cardsEducation can be found without looking for it. Bear Nibbles are a good example of this because a lot of the snacks come with cards that have information on them. The topic might fall under science, history, geography, or occasionally some other type of interesting fact. So you get a healthy snack with a little education thrown in too.

We started off occasionally buying the cereal and then buying the dry fruit as snacks for the kids when out and when we got the cards I would read them out. However, since Whizz is a fussy eater he has ended up having one most days and we ended up putting them on a shelf in the playroom without reading them anymore. We now have lots of them, so I decided it was time to put them to good use. I have made an ‘In’ box for the unread ones and a ‘Out’ box for the ones we have used.

The plan is that when we want quick inspiration for something new to learn about we will pick one of the cards. Not only do we plan on reading it but we will spend extra time learning a bit more about the topic. This may be talking about it, reading a book on the topic, or finding and educational video on YouTube.
